Within the framework of the FishEBM MED project, and more specifically the implementation of NAP+ pilot actions in Morocco, SPA/RAC is launching a call for expressions of interest for civil society organizations to strengthen the capacities of local stakeholders and demonstrate marine litter recovery solutions in the Fnideq region.
The requested tasks are as follows:
- Build the capacities of local stakeholders in marine litter management and recovery;
- Design and conduct training sessions and practical demonstrations adapted to the local context;
- Using materials collected under Component 1 of the NAP+ pilot action in Morocco – establishment of a pilot scheme for the collection, sorting and characterization of marine litter in the Fnideq region – develop and test pilot recovery solutions that are technically and economically appropriate;
- Where necessary, provide the light equipment and consumables required for the demonstrations;
- Support local stakeholders in acquiring the skills needed to replicate the tested solutions;
- Document the processes implemented, constraints encountered, results achieved and technical lessons learned from the pilot action;
- Formulate recommendations for replicating and improving these solutions in other Moroccan and Mediterranean fishing ports.
