Marine protected areas play a key role in preserving Mediterranean biodiversity and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
SPA/RAC supports the designation, management and strengthening of marine protected areas and other effective conservation measures, in line with regional commitments adopted by the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention.
