Within the framework of the FishEBM MED project, and more specifically the implementation of NAP+ pilot actions in Tunisia, SPA/RAC is launching a call for expressions of interest for civil society organizations to contribute to ecological restoration through the deployment of artificial reefs and to participatory governance in the future marine and coastal protected area of the northern islets of Kerkennah.
The requested tasks are as follows:
- Organize consultations with fishers, professional organizations and other relevant stakeholders;
- Design and implement awareness-raising and community mobilization activities promoting the sustainable management of fishery resources and the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing;
- Ensure the procurement, receipt, transport and deployment of the artificial reefs in accordance with the technical specifications established for the pilot action;
- Provide technical monitoring of the deployment operations and ensure that they are properly carried out;
- Organize a national workshop for the sharing of knowledge, lessons learned and experiences, bringing together the main stakeholders involved in artificial reefs, marine habitat restoration and sustainable fisheries management;
Document the activities implemented, difficulties encountered, lessons learned and good practices identified in order to inform the work of the FishEBM MED project.
